At the grand age of 40 something I've finally found out what it is that I like to do most of all ........ watch glass melt . Lampworking is the most soul satisfying occupation you could hope to find, just staring into the flame while that slender stick of glass slowly evolves into something beautiful.

Every bead is hand made, by me, from Italian Effetre or Moretti glass. As they are individually made, no two are the same and matched sets may vary slightly in size. All my beads are annealed in a digitally controlled kiln for added strength and to prevent stresses in the glass, which can cause cracking.

I don't aim for perfection, even if the end result is less than perfect I still consider each bead I make to be unique and fabulous.  I love the quirky and unusual things in life and this is reflected in my beads.  They have been described as little glass cartoons which is one of the other pleasures in my life, have a look at the  sister site  www.dangerousdoodles.com

When I'm not drooling over a hot torch (which isn't often enough for my liking) I make jewellery with my beads and others that I buy, design greetings cards, logos and custom illustrations.

Oh and I'm a mum and I have two jobs, one of which is as a Medical Photographer at the University of Manchester
